Citi has launched a new commercial banking unit and appointed a head for the Asia Pacific region, finews.asia has learned.
Citi appoints Stella Choe as APAC head of global network banking (GNB), a newly launched unit, according to an internal memo seen by finews.asia. In the new role, Choe reports to global head of GNB Marc Merlino, APAC head of corporate banking Kaleem Rizvi and APAC head of Citi Commercial Bank (CCB) Rajat Madhok.
Choe has 15 years of banking experience, most recently as the head of Citi’s global subsidiaries group for APAC. She joined Citi in 2014 and previously worked at HSBC, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan.
GNB Unit
The global subsidiaries group banks Citi’s largest multinational clients while the corporate subsidiaries group banks the subsidiaries of its commercial banking clients. The new GNB unit brings together a global network of relationship managers from both groups’ businesses to «delivers the full capabilities and reach of Citi’s global network to clients», covering over 150 markets.
A spokesperson for the bank confirmed the contents of the memo.
