Citi chooses a new global head of credit risk for its commercial bank from its pool of executives in the Asia Pacific region.
Rajat Madhok has been appointed as global head of credit risk for the Citi commercial bank unit, according to an announcement sent Thursday.
As part of his new role, Madhok will relocate to New York from Hong Kong. Before his appointment, Madhok had been the APAC head of Citi Commercial Bank since 2019. In that role, Madhok led Citi’s commercial banking business across 11 markets in the region. He joined Citi in India in 1996 where he held various roles in both corporate and commercial banking.
Aside from Madhok, Citi has appointed a number of its Asia-based senior bankers to take global and US-based roles, including Anand Selva, CEO of personal banking and wealth management, Gonzalo Luchetti, head of US personal banking, and Valentin Valderrabano, global chief operating officer for Citi global wealth.
