A prominent French banker and the wife of a former Credit Suisse CEO is joining Deutsche Bank in Paris.
Marie-Soazic Geffroy joined Deutsche Bank in Paris to become co-head of its global financial institutions group (FIG) with Jeff Cady who is joining in New York, according to a «Financial News» (behind paywall).
A prominent banker in her own right, she also has a high-profile spouse. According to «efinancial careers», she married former Credit Suisse CEO Tidjane Thiam «sometime in the past few years.» Thiam was the chief executive of the Swiss bank from 2015 until February 2020.
Before joining Deutsche Bank, Geffroy was a partner at Perella Weinberg Partners starting in July 2021 where she was head of FIG for EMEA.
Morgan Stanley Career
Geffroy spent over two decades at Morgan Stanley, most recently as vice-chairman and managing director of the FIG unit in the investment banking division. She held that role from January 2018 through June 2021, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Between 1998 and 2018, she worked in Hong Kong where she was the head of FIG for Asia.
As part of its hiring spree, Deutsche Bank also brought Chris Williams aboard from Credit Suisse to become chair of FIG for EMEA, according to the Financial News story.
