Frankfurt-based Deutsche Bank has hired a former Morgan Stanley dealmaker as its chairman of mergers and acquisitions in Asia.
Deutsche Bank has hired Samuel Kim as chairman of M&A for APAC, according to a «Bloomberg» report citing an internal memo. Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Mayooran Elalingam, head of investment banking coverage and advisory for APAC.
Kim joins from Morgan Stanley where she spent 24 years, most recently as chairman of M&A for APAC. Previously, he also held other senior roles at the US lender like head of M&A and vice chairman of investment banking. Prior to that, he worked at Salomon Brothers in New York.
Kim, who is set to take on the new role in the coming months, boasts broad relationships across the region including some top financial sponsors and conglomerates in South Korea.
