Asia-focused real estate firm ESR has announced two new C-suite appointments.
ESR promotes Josh Daitch to group chief investment officer, according to a statement, overseeing fund management, capital raising, research and analytics as well as new product creation.
Daitch has nearly three decades of real estate investment experience and was most recently ESR’s group head of capital and new economy fund management, after first joining the firm in 2018. Previously, he also worked at Mesirow Financial and Archon Group, Goldman Sachs’ real estate management subsidiary.

In addition, ESR also promotes Australia chief financial officer (CFO) Matthew Lawson to group chief operating officer.
In the newly created role, he will actively support the group co-CEOs and work closely with ESR business unit leadership to deliver key growth initiatives and performance. He will also seek to optimize the firm’s operating capabilities, deliver a more streamlined business and enhanced cost structure as well as oversee IT, insurance and business resilience and other key group functions.
Lawson has more than 20 years of experience at global real estate investment and financial services firms across Asia Pacific. Prior to joining ESR in 2020, he was an executive director and CFO of Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels. Previously, he was also a managing director and Asia head of real estate investment banking practice at JPMorgan.
