The Royal Bank of Canada’s wealth management arm in Asia has hired a handful of former Credit Suisse private bankers.
Kenny Ng joins RBC Wealth Management as managing director, team head in Hong Kong, according to a statement. In the role, he reports to Ignatius Chong, head of enterprise private clients, Asia and interim market head, Greater China.
In Singapore, the Canadian private bank welcomes Charles Hsu as managing director, relationship manager; Denise Toh as managing director, relationship manager; and Cheryl Ang as executive director, relationship manager. All three will focus on the Taiwan and mainland China markets in the city-state while reporting to Shaun Lim, managing director and market head North Asia.
Former Colleagues
Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, all of the four new hires worked at Credit Suisse. At the Swiss lender, which has since been taken over by UBS, Ng was director cluster head and he previously also worked at DBS as a private client desk head.
Hsu has over 30 years of experience and was most recently working at Credit Suisse as an executive director for the Greater China market. Previously, he worked at Central Investment Corporation, Guanghua Investment Corporation and Taipei Fubon Bank.
Toh has 28 years of banking experience, most recently as a senior relationship manager and executive director, also for the Greater China market at Credit Suisse. Prior to that, he worked at Citibank.
Last month, RBC Wealth Management appointed Rod Ireland as interim head for Asia following the exit of 18-year RBC veteran Terence Chow.
