The Royal Bank of Canada has hired three former private bankers from Credit Suisse to join its wealth management unit in Asia.
RBC Wealth Management appoints Eric Kang as senior advisor, Southeast Asia, according to a statement. In the role, he will work closely with Southeast Asia market head Cynthia Jacinto.
Kang joins from Credit Suisse where he was vice chairman of private banking, Southeast Asia. Previously, he also worked at UBS and Morgan Stanley in Singapore, London and Tokyo.
Investment Hires
Bernard Chua joins as senior investment counselor, based in Singapore. In the role, he reports to Gautam Chadda, head of investment & portfolio advisory, Singapore. Chua was most recently an investment consultant focused on Greater China markets at Credit Suisse. Prior to that, he also worked at Citibank, UOB and DBS.
The Canadian private bank also hired Terrence Yeung as director, fixed income specialist. Based in Hong Kong, he reports to Calvin Ng, head of fixed income advisory, Hong Kong. Yeung was vice president of emerging markets fixed income research at Credit Suisse. Before joining the fallen Swiss lender in 2016, he worked at Standard Chartered, BNP Paribas, HSBC and Credit Agricole.
