Standard Chartered-backed Zodia Custody has announced the appointment of a Hong Kong CEO.
Zodia Custody has appointed Kal Chan as CEO of its Hong Kong operations, according to a statement. In the role, he is responsible for leading growth and meeting the needs of financial institutions in the city.
Prior to his latest role, Chan led the APAC business development team at Aquanow, a Vancouver-based digital asset infrastructure provider. Previously, he also worked at the Intercontinental Exchange and Chicago Board Options Exchange in digital asset-related roles.

Zodia recently entered the Hong Kong market in October 2023 after making its Singapore debut one month before in September. In addition to the two markets, the digital asset custodian, which is backed by Standard Chartered, SBI Holdings and Northern Trust, also operates in the UK, Ireland, Luxembourg, Japan and Australia.
