London-based Standard Chartered has named a global head of wealth management solutions, finews.asia has learned, shortly after the recent exit of an industry veteran.
Standard Chartered has named Samir Subberwal as global head, wealth solutions, deposits and mortgages, sources told finews.asia. When contacted a spokesperson confirmed the appointment.
Subberwal has worked at Standard Chartered for around three decades. He was most recently the Hong Kong-based Asia head of consumer, private and business banking as well as global head of digital business.
Predecessor’s Exit
The appointment follows the exit of global head of wealth management, deposits and mortgages Marc Van de Walle after four years with the British lender. The 30-year industry veteran said he was leaving the bank to pursue opportunities elsewhere in a role that could «drive client and P&L growth more directly and holistically», according to a social media post.
«I came to the conclusion that now is the right time to seek out a new challenge,» he said.
