A former J.P. Morgan Private Bank executive has joined Taiwan-based KGI to lead its wealth business.
KGI Securities Hong Kong has appointed James Wey as head of international wealth management, according to a statement. In the role, he will lead the wealth business in Hong Kong as well as Singapore and strengthen capabilities for high net worth clients in Asia.
Wey previously worked at J.P. Morgan Private Bank for 15 years, last as head of Singapore and Southeast Asia. He was most recently working at Yi Capital, overseeing real estate investments and management.
Growth Strategy
According to KGI, the international wealth business will seek «strategic partnerships and collaboration opportunities» for growth while capitalizing on «synergies across its diverse business lines».
«James' extensive knowledge in serving high net worth clients and driving international growth, particularly in Asia, will be instrumental in expanding our Asia footprint and delivering exceptional wealth management services to our clients in the region,» commented Reddy Wong, KGI Securities Hong Kong CEO.
KGI currently has a presence in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand with business lines in wealth management, brokerage, fixed income and asset management. The firm is backed by Taipei-headquartered China Development Financial.
