The board of HSBC’s Singapore banking unit has announced the appointment of a new board member.
HSBC Bank (Singapore) has appointed James Coyle as independent non-executive director of its board, according to a statement, effective September 1. He will also become a member of the board’s audit and risk Committees as well as chairman of the risk committee, effective December 31.
Coyle has over 35 years of experience, previously holding senior roles at financial institutions including group chief accountant for Bank of Scotland and group financial controller and deputy finance director at Lloyds Banking Group. He is currently a senior independent director and audit committee chairman at Pollen Street; oversight board deputy chairman and audit governance board member at Deloitte; and audit chair at Ecclesiastical Insurance Office.
