Two 30-year veterans who previously worked at Credit Suisse and Julius Baer have joined EFG’s advisory board in Asia.

EFG Bank has appointed Urs Buchmann as vice chairman of its Regional Asia Advisory Board, according to a statement.

Buchmann has over three decades of experience, most recently as the vice chairman of Credit Suisse in Hong Kong where he drove the development of the now-defunct bank’s activities in Greater China and other markets including Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Bangladesh and Mongolia.

Indian Market Expertise

In addition, the bank has also appointed Ashish Gumashta as a member of the Regional Asia Advisory Board. He has 30 years of expertise with a focus on the Indian market and was previously managing director of strategic initiatives at Motilal Oswal as well as executive chairman and CEO of Julius Baer, India.
