Zurich-based US insurer Chubb has appointed a country president for Malaysia.

Chubb has appointed Jon Longmore as country president for Malaysia, effective November, according to a statement, subject to regulatory and other approvals. Based in Kuala Lumpur, he reports to Marcos Gunn, regional president, Asia Pacific. In his new role, Longmore will have responsibility for the overall performance of Chubb in Malaysia.

Longmore has worked at Chubb for 13 years in underwriting, distribution and partnership roles while based in Australia. He was named head of digital for APAC in 2018 before assuming his latest role as country president of PT Chubb General Insurance in 2020.

Longmore succeeds Stephen Crouch who will stay with the firm in the new role of head of government affairs, APAC. Adrianto Gunawan, chief financial officer for Indonesia, will take on the additional role of interim country president of PT Chubb General Insurance while the appointment of a permanent successor is underway.
