A founding member of Citi’s commercial bank in Indonesia will lead corporate banking in the Southeast Asian nation.

Citi has appointed Wit Oemar as head of corporate banking for Indonesia, according to a statement. In the role, he reports to K. Balasubramanian, head of corporate banking, Asia South, Citi and Batara Sianturi, chief country officer of Citi Indonesia.

Oemar first joined Citi Indonesia in 2006 as one of the founding members of Citi Commercial Bank in the country. He was most recently head of global network banking, Indonesia, a role held since 2023.

«Indonesia is an important market for Citi. We are the leading bank for most major multinational companies in Indonesia. Under Wit’s leadership, we will continue to focus on driving business performance and strengthening our presence in Indonesia, including enhancing the synergies with Citi’s other businesses to deliver our full product suite to corporate banking clients,» said Balasubramanian.
