J.P. Morgan Asset Management has announced that Gloria Chung has joined the firm as Chief Marketing Officer of Asia Pacific Global Investment Management (GIM) and Head of Market Planning for the Asia-Pacific Funds business, reporting to Richard Chambers, Chief Marketing Officer of GIM and Michael Falcon, Chief Executive Officer of Asia Pacific.
Based in Hong Kong, Chung will primarily oversee the marketing efforts in the region and will also lead the marketing teams across the region to identify strategic marketing initiatives to support the business’s growth.
Commenting on the appointment, Chambers said, “We are thrilled to have Gloria on board. Her passion, commitment and discipline will be a great addition to our Asia Pacific Marketing organization. We are looking forward to having her help us build a best-in-class marketing organisation that leverages the best ideas from across the region and around the world to enhance our clients’ experience with JPMAM.”
Working closely with her marketing teams across the region, Chung will optimize any opportunities emerging in the region from a marketing perspective and will ensure JPMAM is delivering a strong and differentiated brand experience. Falcon said, “Our marketing team plays a critical role in delivering a first-class client experience. To ensure our marketing efforts are best aligned to help us capitalise on the tremendous growth opportunities in Asia Pacific, I am so pleased to have Gloria on board. Chung has over 20 years’ experience in strategic marketing, including brand management, market research, acquisition, retention and segment marketing for both Business-to-Client and Business-to-Business models.
She spent 10 years at HSBC, working across its sales and marketing organisations. Chung joins JPMAM from Vanguard, where she was Head of Marketing for Asia.
