Axa Investment Managers has hired an External Director and Chairman in Japan as the company works to develop its footprint in the country.
The global fund manager announced the appointment of Masanori Tanabe as External Director and Chairman in Japan.
Tanabe spent 30 years (1975-2005) in various leadership roles at the Bank of Japan (BoJ), most notably in Policy Planning and Market Operations. After his tenure at the BoJ, Tanabe became the Governor of the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan. He has also held non-executive directorships at the Enterprise Turnaround Initiative Corporation of Japan, and since 2015 at Axa Life Japan.

Masanori Tanabe graduated from the University of Tokyo and holds a Master of Science degree from Cornell University.
