BRP Bizzozero & Partners, a Swiss consultant to financial services companies, has opened a branch in Singapore.
BRP Bizzozero & Partners, based in Geneva, decided to open a subsidiary in Singapore to tap into a market it expects will expand further, the company said in a statement. The consultant so far has offices in Geneva, Zurich, London and Luxembourg, four main financial centers in Europe.
«Establishing our presence in Asia is a significant milestone for us, it reflects our confidence in the growth of the financial markets across Asia,» said Claudia M. Fritsche, partner and chairperson of BRP Asia.
BRP's main instruments are its country manuals. They summarize the rules on market access and provide practical guidance on how financial institutions remain compliant as they approach clients and conduct their business in foreign jurisdictions.
Cross-Border Private Banking
To date, BRP covers more than 110 jurisdictions for cross-border private banking. In other manuals, BRP covers topics such as taxes, wealth planning, external asset management, financial products, asset management companies and trade finance.
«Financial institutions can no longer service foreign domiciled clients by ignoring the laws and regulations of foreign countries, Swiss banks have suffered significant damage due to cross-border risks that have materialized,» said Alessandro Bizzozero, founding partner and general manager of BRP.
The operations of BRP in Singapore will be led by Rolf Haudenschild. The lawyer has 15 years of experience working on regulatory matters, compliance and as a consultant in Europe and Singapore.
