The Swiss Business Association in Singapore said it has gone live with its new website, shortly before the two countries mark 50 years of diplomatic relations.
Founded in 1988 by a group of Swiss-Singaporean businessmen and entrepreneurs, the Swiss Business Association (SBA) pursues the goal of representing members’ interests, offering members a platform for Swiss networking as well as promoting and fostering Swiss trade, services, manufacturing and investments in Singapore.
With the Swiss-Singaporean business ties being both close and numerous, the SBA has enjoyed continuous growth over the past 28 years. «Today, we count over 220 members, from start-up companies and well established small and medium-sized enterprises to large multinationals, representing all major industries of the Swiss economy,» Chairman Tom Ludescher said.
The newly-designed SBA website offers a variety of information and several new sections. Under «What’s up» users can find upcoming SBA «Events», the newly-implemented «Job and Internship board», «Useful Resources» shared by SBA and fellow members, a «Photo Gallery» and much more.
Reaching Milestones
The SBA has invited members to share and contribute content on the website, and posts can be shared either publicly or with members only.
«The focus of SBA's activities for 2017 will be on reaching the next milestones in transforming the association into the SwissCham, with a couple of digital initiatives including member interaction through social media, fostering ties with the Swiss and Singaporean Academia and building a bridge with the member base for talent management purposes as well as continuing to serve the members with an interactive Swiss networking experience and business related knowledge transfer,» Ludescher said.
Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations
The year 2017 promises to be a special one as it marks 50 years of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Singapore. «In conjunction with this anniversary, the Embassy of Switzerland will host a line-up of events to celebrate,» Thomas Kupfer, Ambassador of Switzerland to Singapore, says.
