The asset management unit of State Street Corporation, State Street Global Advisors, has appointed a new Managing Director and Head of Client Relationship Management for Southeast Asia.
Taking up the role will be James Ong, he will be based in Singapore and report to June Wong, head of State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) Asia ex-Japan, the firm said in a statement.
Ong has more than 20 years of sales experience across institutional and intermediary channels in the region. Prior to joining SSGA Ong was Client Director at HSBC Global Asset Management where he managed the South East Asian institutional business. Previously he held a similar position at UOB Asset Management.
«James Ong’s familiarity with central banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, foundations, endowments and insurance clients are greatly aligned with our team. He is a fantastic addition to our team as we build out our intermediary business,» said Wong (pictured). Earlier this year the firm hired Aisling Keane as Head of Alternative Investment Solutions for the Asia Pacific region.
