Savills Investment Management has appointed a new Director, Fund Management for Singapore. It is the latest in a series of senior management hires as the firm further strengthens its team in Asia-Pacific.

Volker Wanka joins Savills Investment Management (Savills IM) with over 12 years’ experience in Real Estate Investment Management and Fund Management in Europe and Asia, the firm said in a statement to finews.asia.

In the new role he will lead the fund management and transaction activities for Savills IM’s Asia Property Fund 2 and Asia Pacific Fund, as well as help grow the firm’s portfolio in Asia. 

Most recently Wanka was Director, Fund Management for Savills IM Frankfurt where he took up the role as Fund Manager for two Savills IM-managed Asian property funds.

Recent Management Moves

Prior to that he was based in Singapore from 2008 to 2014, where he was Vice President, Real Estate Investments with SEB Asset Management in Singapore, and oversaw the acquisitions and dispositions across commercial, retail, residential and hospitality sectors with volume totalling over $2.6 billion.

Savills IM appointed a new Chief Financial Officer, Asia-Pacific in August last year when it hired Tammy Kuan from Morgan Stanley Investment Management. That followed the May 2016 announcement that Michael Flynn took on the role of Chief Executive Officer in Asia Pacific at Savills IM.
