Part of Old Mutual Wealth, Old Mutual International, has announced a new CEO in Singapore following the departure of previous head Steve Hickman.
Ian Kloss, joined Old Mutual International (OMI) in August 2014 as an area sales manager in Hong Kong, and takes up the new Singapore role with immediate effect, OMI said in a press release sent to finews.asia overnight.
Kloss developed key broker relationships in the region and played an active role in helping adviser businesses deliver high quality, sustainable, financial planning to clients.
His priority as CEO for Singapore is to continue to build Old Mutual International’s growth strategy in the region, expanding its distribution opportunities and broadening its proposition to a wider audience.
As a U.S. expat, Kloss spearheaded a campaign in the region to raise awareness of the complications U.S. expats face when it comes to pension savings, helping put the spotlight on the alternative solutions available.
Poached by Swiss Life
Singapore will continue to be a core growth market for Old Mutual International, and the business remains committed to the advice sector and on delivering its multi-channel distribution strategy in the region.
finews.asia understands that the previous Chief Executive, Steve Hickman, who was relatively short lived in the role, was headhunted by Swiss Life and is now Chief Executive Swiss Life Singspore.
Hickman replaced Thomas Henze who returned to Europe with Swiss Life to take on a larger role.
