The former Head of Chinese Domestic Institutional Equity Sales at GaoHua Securities, the Goldman Sachs onshore joint venture, is to join UBS.
In an internal note seen by finews.asia the Swiss bank said that Yiwei Guan, has joined UBS Securities (UBSS) as Head of China Advisory Sales. He will be based in Shanghai and report to David Xu, UBSS Head of Equities.
Yiwei Guan will run the Advisory Sales team in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen. He will also be responsible for driving the overall China client strategy under the OneClient distribution model.
Before joining UBSS, Guan held the position of Head of China Domestic Institutional Equity Sales at GaoHua Securities Co (Goldman Sachs onshore JV), prior to that he was based in Tokyo working in Equity Sales for Goldman Sachs from 2001.
He has a Bachelor Degree in Economics from Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan.
