Julius Baer has agreed to extend its partnership with the world's first electric racing circuit. The Swiss bank's eco-sponsoring is one of several ties to film star Leonardo DiCaprio.
Julius Baer has extended its partnership with the FIA Formula E Championship as the Global Partner of the electric street racing series until the end of the 2020/21 season.
The bank claims the extension demonstrates its own values of pioneering innovation and promoting sustainability. Formula E highlights Julius Baer's close ties to Leonardo DiCaprio, which have raised eyebrows in recent months.
From The Top Down
The Hollywood actor has found himself embroiled in the graft scandal surrounding 1MDB in recent months. Julius Baer is not involved in the scandal, but has nevertheless drawn the ire of a Swiss conservation group for sponsoring DiCaprio's charity.
The private bank joined the FIA Formula E Championship prior to the inaugural race nearly three years ago.
« The renewal of the partnership highlights Julius Baer's ongoing support and commitment to Formula E and its forward-thinking and innovative approach,» said Chief Executive Boris Collardi.
