As Hong Kong continues to develop as an asset management centre, hedge fund start-ups in the city will now be able to tap into a new resource from a global law firm.
International law firm Simmons & Simmons has launched its dedicated online resource for start-up hedge fund managers in north Asia's financial hub.
The online resource, «Simmons & Simmons LaunchPlus», offers a comprehensive support service for emerging managers to assist the successful launch and operation of a new hedge fund management business.
The resource builds on the British version for start-ups in London created by the firm’s U.K. hedge fund practice. The product won «Best New Legal Product» in the 2016 Lawyer Business Leadership Awards last year.
A Growing And Maturing Market
«Our hedge fund practice has designed this resource to help Hong Kong-based prospective managers tackle the considerable number of decision points and workstreams involved in setting up their business from scratch,» said Gaven Cheong, partner at Simmons & Simmons.
The firm already boasts the largest hedge fund team in London and provides global support to hedge funds in Hong Kong, Singapore.
Asia is now host to a large concentration of international fund managers who are being joined by both new incoming investment managers and seasoned local fund professionals setting up on their own.
