A few days after departing J.P. Morgan its former CEO has been appointed as a non-executive director, at the Australian Stock Exchange.

The Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) board has announced the appointment of Rob Priestley effective 17 May 2017. Priestley will stand for election at the ASX AGM on 26 September 2017.

Priestley was previously CEO of J.P. Morgan (JPM) Australia & New Zealand, and a member of the bank’s Asia Pacific Management Committee, before his decision to step away from day to day management responsibilities and move into the role of non-executive chair.

Other Opportunities

Earlier this week finews.asia reported on the change of guard at JPM's Australian business. In the article it was pointed out that Priestley, while taking on the role of chairman for JPM in Australia, would still be allowed to pursue other roles.

Commenting on the appointment, ASX chair Rick Holliday-Smith said: «The Board and I are delighted that Rob has agreed to join the ASX Board, his international and local experience will bring valuable insights into the needs and concerns of the financial institutions that are ASX’s customers.»
