Based on a growing demand from Chinese cities and emerging markets, Japanese tech firm Oki is about to roll out a Bitcoin ATM.

Initially, Oki aims to launch the new machines in China and other emerging nations in Asia though the company has not officially announced where these Bitcoin ATMs will be installed.

Bitcoin holders will be able to use their virtual wallets to withdraw cash in the local currency as well as deposit physical cash into their digital accounts.

According to Japan's «Nikkei Asian Review» Oki's ATMs could be launching as early as this month.

The Japanese tech company plans to provide other functionality as well, such as settling payment on invoices sent via smartphone.

With public safety concerns in certain emerging economies and heightened cyber-risk, the new machines will also boast extensive security features.
