An Australian bank fired the starting gun on the race to find an outsourcing partner to help upgrade its technology.
Melbourne-based ANZ said on Monday that it is looking for an «innovative technoligy provider» who can help upgrade its technology.
The bank is moving fast under new tech chief Gerard Florian, a former Dimensions Data executive who was poached nine months ago and displaced information chief Scott Collary.
«We’ll begin a formal process to appoint a system integration partner to assist in the scoping and design of our technology architecture to support the bank’s implementation of agile ways of working,» such as in smaller teams, Florian said on the bank's digital broadcaster.
No Core Replacement
Florian said the bank isn't looking to replace its technology platform, which runs on a CSC Hogan core banking system.
«Technology will play a critical role in the continued transformation of ANZ as we implement new ways of working to respond more quickly to changing customer expectations, engage and empower staff, and continue to improve efficiency,» Floran said.
One of the first big Australian banks to offshore technology, ANZ has built up thousands of jobs in Bangalore, India.
The newest push isn't a "big-bank technology project with a finish line," he said, but rather a continuous improvement of its existing technology. He said efforts will aim to "deliver value quickly," without specifying details.
