An executive director who oversaw legal advice in the investment banking and advisory business, is leaving UBS after a decade at the bank.
International law firm Baker McKenzie has recruited UBS executive director Antony Rumboll into its Sydney business. Rumboll, oversaw legal advice in the investment banking and advisory business across equity capital markets, M&A and corporate transactions.
Prior to joining the Swiss bank in June 2007, he was a lawyer with Herbert Smith Freehills and before that was with legal firm Bristows, also in Sydney.
A report in the Australian Financial Review (behind paywall) claims Rumboll will join Baker McKenzie in November as a partner in the capital markets team. The role includes ECM and debt capital markets work and cross border transactions.
Baker McKenzie recently acted for Morgan Stanley as Australian and U.S. legal counsel to underwriter when it managed a $450 million equity placement for wealth group IOOF which acquired wealth businesses from ANZ Banking Group.
