Throughout 2017 ANZ trimmed the reach of the bank across Asia. In India however the bank is deepening its business penetration.
ANZ announced Rohit Bhasin as head of markets India with immediate effect, he will be based in Mumbai. In the new role Bhasin will report jointly to CEO India Sanjeev Bajaj and head of markets and markets trading Singapore and South Asia, Anshul Sidher.
Bhasin has more than 20 years of experience in markets, most recently as head of fixed income and currencies for India, Sri Lanka, and Thailand at Deutsche Bank. He previously held roles at Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO the Melbourne based bank said in a press rlease
Along with their commercial banking activities in the vastly populated nation ANZ has a significant shared services hub operation in Bengaluru employing over 7000 staff supporting its businesses in Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
