Bernhard Hodler's Difficult Mission
The departure of Boris Collardi translates to an unexpected moment of glory for his successor, Bernhard Hodler. The former Julius Baer risk boss is now the public face of the third-largest Swiss private bank – and inherits huge shoes to fill, if only temporarily. Unlike the dynamic and charismatic Collardi, the somewhat bland Holder will have to stem what some inside Julius Baer believe could be a raid on clients, advisors, and assets. Hodler, who is thus far seen as little more than a stand-in, also needs to help his board find a long-term replacement for Collardi.
