The insurance division of HSBC in Singapore appointed a new CEO, poaching its candidate from a prominent rival.
HSBC Insurance (Singapore) appointed Carlos Vazquez as its new chief executive officer with immediate effect. Predecessor Ian Martin will assume a new role at HSBC group insurance, the company said in a media announcement.
Vazquez joins HSBC from Manulife in Singapore where he held the role of chief product officer. He also worked in Japan and Indonesia for the firm. HSBC Insurance (Singapore) has been a Monetary Authority of Singapore Tier-1 insurer since 2017, managing total assets of more than S$5 billion.
