Asia Consolidation
In November, MS Amlin announced that it would close its Hong Kong branch to new business from January 1, 2020, and enter into run-off as it consolidates its business with MSIG Hong Kong. It previously closed its India reinsurance business in July 2019, only a year after formally entering the market.
The firm is owned by Japan’s MS&AD Insurance Group, following its $5.3 billion deal purchase of Lloyd's player Amlin completed in 2016.
