A guilty plead is expected from President Donald Trump’s former fundraiser over charges that include illegal lobbying over the 1MDB case.
Elliot Broidy is expected to plead guilty over illegally lobbying Trump to drop an investigation over the 1MDB embezzlement scandal, according to court documents filed yesterday.
Documents filed earlier this month also include a separate charge for illegally lobbying for the return of a mainland Chinese dissident living in the U.S. though no one has been named for hiring Broidy.
Accusations against Broidy note that for millions of dollars, he lobbied Trump and the Department of Justice to halt investigations over the role of a «wealthy businessperson living in East Asia» in the 1MDB scandal.
