Outgoing chief executive Dominique Jooris will explore other professional opportunities after four years at the helm.
Pictet has appointed Sharon Chou as CEO of Bank Pictet & Cie (Asia), its private banking entity in Singapore, effective 1 January 2021, the Geneva-based firm announced on Tuesday.
Chou joined Pictet in 2011 after spending 14 years at BNP Paribas in Hong Kong. She was Pictet's managing director of PWM North Asia, and was most recently deputy CEO of PWM Asia and chief executive of its Hong Kong branch.
In her new role, she will oversee the activities of the bank and lead the business development of PWM in South and Southeast Asia. She will report to Fong Seng Tee, CEO of PWM Asia. Dominique Jooris (pictured above) will assist Chou through 30 June 2021 and support her during this transition period, the announcement said.
Strengthening Leadership Team
At the same time, Pictet has hired Kian Seng Yap and Rayson Tan as chief financial officer, Asia, and chief risk officer, Asia, respectively, two newly created positions in Singapore.
Yap brings 24 years of banking industry experience and joins from UBS, where he was its APAC head of wealth and asset management financial controller. In his new role, he will oversee financial activities for Pictet in Asia as well as treasury and credit, both in Singapore and Hong Kong. He reports to Chou and Fong, and functionally to the group’s chief financial officer, Grégory Petit.
Tan brings 20 years of compliance and risk experience in the banking and financial services industry. He joins from Revolut, where he was chief risk officer and head of legal. He was previously a managing director in the compliance and regulatory affairs division of Credit Suisse.
He reports to Chou and Fong, and functionally to PWM chief risk officer Laurent Gaillard and group chief risk officer Xavier Barde.
