The fast-growing fintech has made several appointments to strengthen and build on its capabilities to bring increased financial inclusion for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Singapore-headquartered Validus has appointed Alfred Aloysius as head of strategic alliances, responsible for deepening existing and forging new partnerships in support of Validus’ supply chain financing focus, it announced in a statement on Friday.
Aloysius brings more than 25 years of supply chain experience and previously held management positions as chief procurement officer at SMRT Corporation, and VP of group procurement at ComfortDelGro, before moving to SATS as head of global sourcing and procurement.
Growing Team
The Validus team in Singapore has grown by 20 percent over the last six months, on the back of strong growth and to support regional expansion.
Recent senior hires include Han Weiguang, head of operations, and Kriti Sama, head of sales. Prior to joining Validus, Han previously held roles in corporate banking operations at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and Taipei Fubon Commercial Bank. Sama,who now spearheads Validus’ SME customer acquisition and retention strategy, has over 10 years’ experience in various sales roles.
Launched in 2015, Validus brings together accredited individual and institutional lenders and SMEs on a peer-to-peer lending platform. It has facilitated over S$850 million in SME financing through its entities in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and most recently, Thailand. Its partners currently include Siemens, YTL PowerSeraya, ST Engineering, and SMM, part of Surbana Jurong Group.
