UBS hopes to keep clients digitally engaged through a myriad of content with the launch of a new banking app, starting first in Asia.
UBS has launched banking app «UBS Circle One», according to a statement, described as a digital platform that «connects clients to experts, thought leaders and actionable ideas».
New daily content will be featured on the app based on the latest views from the bank’s chief investment office through short videos, podcasts and interactive live webinars.
Rollout Plan
The app will first be introduced in Asia Pacific, where it was co-created with 100 clients in Hong Kong and Singapore to help fine-tune features and usability. It will be rolled out in the U.S. and Europe next year.
The app will also add new features every month with the next phase to focus on connecting clients with one another as well as experts on subjects about investing, wealth planning, family advisory to sustainability, art, philanthropy and more.
Tech Strategy
On Monday, UBS chief executive Ralph Hamers had earmarked the app’s launch this week and underlined the Swiss bank’s ambitions to be the «Netflix of wealth».
«UBS Circle One is all about people, content and connections, bringing the best of UBS’s global ecosystem to our clients,» said APAC co-head of UBS Global Wealth Management August Hatecke.
«UBS Circle One is not just a mobile app, it is our key differentiator and an extension of our wide array of digital innovations such as UBS Advisor Messaging [and] Direct Investment Insights,» added APAC co-head of UBS Global Wealth Management Amy Lo.
