Terraform Labs co-founder Do Kwon made a rare appearance in a media interview about the Terra-Luna crash, adding that he believed there was likely a «mole» at the firm exploiting vulnerabilities in the tokens.
In a taped video interview with media startup «Coinage», fallen crypto entrepreneur Do Kwon spoke from his Singapore office about the run-up to and the aftermath of the collapse of stablecoin TerraUSD (UST) and sister token Luna.
The interview, which is the debut episode of a series launched last month, covered a range of different topics including the foundation of Terra’s technology, the ongoing investigation by South Korean authorities, the prospect of jail time and more.
There Was «Probably» a Mole
One of the notable claims by Kwon in the interview is the likelihood of there being a mole at Terraform Labs who exploited opportunities for gain that led to the crash. Separately, South Korean prosecutors have banned former and current Terra employees from leaving the country.
«If you're asking me whether there was a mole at [Terraform Labs], that's probably, 'Yes.' Whether somebody tried to take advantage of that particular opportunity, I would say that the answer is, 'Yes,’» said Terra co-founder Do Kwon in a taped interview with media startup «Coinage».
Nonetheless, Kwon underlined he alone was responsible for such exploitation as he is to blame for presenting those vulnerabilities in the first place.
«Life is Long»
Meanwhile, South Korean authorities continue widening their probe and most recently raided the house of fellow Terra co-founder Daniel Shin. According to Kwon, he is undecided on returning to his home country as investigators have never been in touch nor issued any charges, adding that he plans to cooperate in due time.
And when asked about the prospect of jail time, he said: «Life is long».
