A Cologne-based asset manager with a presence in Zurich is appointing Axel Weber to a key position.
Flossbach von Storch is appointing former UBS chair Axel Weber as chairman of the board of directors, it said in an emailed statement Friday.
Weber, who left UBS in April, will advise the board as the Cologne-based financial institution aims to grow internationally and expand its private wealth management.

Before serving as UBS’s chair, Weber was president of the German Bundesbank between 2004 and 2011.
Founded in 1998, Flossbach von Storch has had an office in Zurich for many years. The independent asset manager has more than 70 billion euros in assets under management and over 300 employees, according to the firm’s website.
