Bonus payments at Credit Suisse continue to be the subject of speculation. After reports of a halving of the bonus pool and reports of delayed staff reviews, some employees will get their bonuses via installments.
Credit Suisse will pay some of its junior and mid-level bankers their bonuses in stages. The relevant employees were informed payment will be made in installments over time, «Bloomberg» (behind paywall) reported citing people familiar with the matter.
Each of the three installments is to be paid out in roughly 40-day increments after April 1, July 1, and October 1, according to the report.
A Balancing Act
Earlier, there had been reports of the postponement of bonus talks among employees of the investment bank at the managing director and director levels.
The smaller bonus pot and uncertainties caused by the restructuring of the investment bank and planned job cuts are causing unrest among the staff at the Swiss bank. In addition to the cuts, Credit Suisse is trying to keep those employees it wants to keep at all costs with cash payments, according to further reports.
