JPMorgan was selected as the employer of choice by university students in Hong Kong, according to a survey, alongside four other lenders in the top 10 rankings.
Hong Kong university students selected JPMorgan as the city’s top employer, according to a survey by talent advisory firm Universum.
This was followed by HSBC in second place and Morgan Stanley in third place. Other banks in the top ten include Goldman Sachs at the ninth position and Hang Seng Bank in the tenth position.
Salary Importance Falls
Compared to 2022, the important of salary fell two rankings to fourth place and the expected annual salary upon graduation fell 3 percent to HK$292,900 ($37,400). This year, «a friendly work environment» was the top factor to consider when seeking employment, followed by «professional training and development» and «encouraging work-life balance».
The survey was conducted between October 2022 and April 2023, interviewing 4,179 students from nine universities in Hong Kong pursuing degrees in business, commerce, engineering, natural sciences, humanities, liberal arts and education.
Founded in 1988, Stockholm-headquartered Universum focuses specifically on employer branding and is part of Nasdaq-listed investment firm StepStone Group.
