The digital arm of Singapore-based multi-family office Whampoa Group has entered a strategic partnership with a Korean gaming company.
Whampoa Digital has entered a strategic partnership with Wemade, a Korean gaming company, according to a statement. The tie-up involves a $100 million Web3 fund to be established by Wemade as well as digital asset initiatives in the Middle East.
The fund targets gaming studios and blockchain projects that intend to set up an office in Wemade’s Dubai-based WEMIX PLAY Center, a Web3 gaming center. Collaboration between the two firms will also include mutual deal and project referrals, potential co-investments as well as the leveraging of each other’s technical and operational know-how to develop blockchain infrastructure and solutions.
«This partnership will allow us to pioneer new horizons in the digital asset industry beyond our already established sectors, as well as foster innovation in the Middle East,» said Aureole Foong, senior partner at Whampoa Group.
Whampoa Group is a Singapore-headquartered multi-family office. Its founders include renowned figures from the city-state including Amy Lee, niece of the late Lee Kuan Yew as well as Lee Han Shih, member of the OCBC banking family.
