On Wednesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping met a handful of American business leaders in Beijing. No details have been disclosed about what was discussed at the meeting.
Around 20 firms from various industries were invited to participate in the gathering, according to a «Reuters» report citing unnamed sources, which was organized by the National Committee on US-China Relations, the US-China Business Council and think tank Asia Society

Within the financial sector, Chinese state media noted that Blackstone co-founder and CEO Stephen Schwarzman was one of the attendees. In other industries, attendees included FedEx CEO Raj Subramaniam and Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon.
The meeting is being held in the midst of slowing growth in China as well as a 30-year low in foreign direct investments, according to data from local authorities.
