Ten new employees are joining UBS from Deutsche Bank and HSBC in the Middle East region. Three of them will take on senior positions.

UBS has expanded its wealth management in the Middle East with ten new employees. In Saudi Arabia, Bassel Al Zaouk has been appointed as head of domestic wealth management at the Riyadh office, according to a statement.

Ali Khunji will become co-head of the Bahrain office, sharing the responsibility with Khaled Salah. Additionally, Rana Al Emam will take on the responsibility of expanding the business in Abu Dhabi starting in early July.

Ambitious Goals

Al Zaouk was previously CEO and country head of Deutsche Bank in Saudi Arabia. He is joined by three other new employees moving from the German competitor to UBS. Khunji and Al Emam are joining UBS from HSBC, each bringing two additional new hires.

With the new wealth managers, UBS is well positioned to advance its growth strategy in the region and achieve the «ambitious goals we have set for ourselves,» said Niels Zilkens, head of UBS Wealth Management Middle East.
