Swiss-based private bank Julius Baer recruits a leading IT specialist, as finews.asia can reveal.

Rolf Olmesdahl, a name recently linked to prominent leadership roles, has made his choice: the IT expert is now part of Julius Baer.

He started his new role as Head of the Core Banking Program at the Zurich-based institution Monday.

Overseeing Renewal

Olmesdahl’s responsibilities include overseeing the renewal of Julius Baer’s core banking system for its booking centers in Switzerland and Guernsey.

According to an internal memo seen by finews.asia from interim CEO Nic Dreckmann, Olmesdahl will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Decades of Industry Experience

Olmesdahl brings over 40 years of experience in the financial sector’s IT landscape. He has held leadership positions at several major Swiss banks and institutions, including UBS, Credit Suisse, Raiffeisen, and Zurich Insurance. His most recent role was with Credit Suisse.
