Do you want a job career promotion or just more money? A new survey reveals surprising results.
Forty-six percent of professionals would take a promotion with no raise, a poll of more than 850 professionals conducted by headhunter Korn Ferry found. A full 54 percent cut straight to the chase, preferring a raise with no career advancement.
Many firms are not doing a good enough job in producing clear promotion opportunities for professionals, according to the executive recruiter's survey.

The result also revealed that almost one-third of professionals – 29 percent – who were overlooked for a promotion said they would immediately start looking for a new job.
The headhunter sees career development and coaching as two key pillars in retaining top talent, even when an employee is not ready for the next step up. Unsurprisingly, office politics was cited as the reason for not moving up the ladder by just under one-quarter of respondents.
