Wei Christianson, née Sun, co-runs Morgan Stanley in Asia Pacific and is CEO of China. She first joined the U.S.-bank in 1998, where John Mack was her mentor and after she graduated, cum laude, from Amherst College as the college's first mainland China student. She also worked for Credit Suisse and Citi before, at Mack's request, returning to Morgan Stanley.
Married to American laywer Jon Christianson and mother of three boys, Christianson is famously tight-lipped during interviews. Impeccably dressed at all times, she has cited her late mother as a major influence growing up as well as the person who urged her to stay in male-dominated banking even when Christianson herself felt like giving up.
