6. The Blue-Chip CEO
Breaking out of her comfort zone, the 53-year-old Louisa Cheang Wai Wan, relocated to London in 2014 to become head of retail banking for HSBC. It was a rare non-Asian post in a career at the British bank that began in 1999 but it didn’t last long.
In 2017 she returned to Hong Kong to take the top job at HSBC’s Hang Seng. In the process, she became the only female CEO leading a Hong Kong blue-chip company, sharing the achievement with her predecessor, Rose Lee Wai Mun.
