Mark Mobius, fund manager at Franklin Templeton, is stepping down later this month. He will however remain Executive Chairman of the Templeton Emerging Markets Group.
The 79-year-old Mark Mobius, who was recently the keynote speaker at the Investment Managers Association of Singapore conference, is known for his exhaustive research methodology that takes him to the far corners of the globe searching for value.
Stephen Dover, currently the Chief Investment Officer of Franklin Local Asset Management, will assume responsibilities for day-to-day management of the Templeton Emerging Markets Group and will become CIO of the division. The move will bring the Franklin Local Asset Management team and the Emerging Markets Group under one umbrella.
Dover, who has more than 20 years of experience in emerging-market investments, currently oversees the team which manages products in 14 markets around the world, from Brazil to China to Poland and Vietnam.
