The Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Singapore has appointed Georg von Wattenwyl as its 11th Chairman. He is succeeding Tom Ludescher, who was at the helm since 2015.
Georg von Wattenwyl, 51, is a financial industry veteran with over 20 years of experience with leading firms in the banking and finance sector. He brings with him a wide breadth of corporate and association experience, having been appointed as Managing Director and Head EAM Asia and Global Head Family Offices at Vontobel earlier this year. Von Wattenwyl is newly based in Singapore.
Bolstering his association credentials, von Wattenwyl has been serving as Chairman of the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA) since 2014. «With more than 200 active members, SwissCham represents perfectly the diversity of the Swiss Business Community in Singapore and it is a great honor and privilege for me to serve as Chairman of the board,» said von Wattenwyl.

He begins his role on August 1, 2019. Tom Ludescher (pictured below) commented, «I am very humbled to hand the SwissCham chairmanship over to Georg von Wattenwyl. His strong track record in the corporate and association world paired with his great personality will ensure that the chamber maintains its instrumental position in representing Swiss business and promoting members’ continued success and leadership in Singapore and the region.»
