Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing adds a longstanding Securities and Futures Commission veteran as a new member to its risk management committee.

Rico Leung, recently appointed as executive director responsible for supervision of markets at the SFC, joins the committee to succeed Keith Lui, former executive director at the SFC who retired after 24 years with the regulator.

HKEX’s eight-man committee is currently chaired by Laura Cha, who is also an independent non-executive director and deputy chairman of HSBC Banking Corporation Limited.

Leung has over 18 years of experience with the SFC and was appointed to his new role earlier this month when he was a senior director of supervision of markets. In his new role, he will serve a three-year term ending August 27, 2022.
